Absolute Visual Reading
Absolute Visual Reading was a video program developed by Dr. Gattegno for students with deafness to teach themselves how to read. It was released in 1974, but his outreach to the deaf community began much earlier.
In 1956 he released a book called Teaching Mathematics to Deaf Children
, of which excerpts and translations were published separately and under different titles, and in 1973 he released Absolute Visual Reading.
This video series uses some of the same concepts behind Pop Ups
and Words in Color.
